Hi! I'm Cheryl, a full-stack software engineer with industry experience and hybrid skills.
MS. in CS and HCI
I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science at Cornell University. Before that, I graduated with a Master of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology in Human-Computer Interaction and worked at Samsung and Amazon for a couple of years.
From my days as a student to leading pivotal projects at Amazon, I have always been driven by one aspiration: to improve our productivity and well-being through the levers of technology. This aspiration led me to dive into the interdisciplinary field of Human-Computer Interaction in Computer Science. Having worked on a diverse range of research and development projects in the industry, I discovered my strength in solving problems and developing technical solutions. Therefore I committed to a career in computer engineering and devoted another year to academic education to sharpen my skills and refresh my perspectives on cutting-edge technologies including Machine Learning. I look forward to leveraging my skills and industry experience to build meaningful products.
Make impacts at Amazon
From 2020 - 2021, I designed and delivered seller onboarding, listing, and order management tools that allow third-party sellers to offer pickup in-store and fast local delivery through Amazon, which helped many small local businesses boost their sales during the difficult time of COVID-19.
Starting in 2023, I made crucial contributions to the technical design of Amazon Shipping Settings and shifted my focus to building backend features to scale location-based operations as fast shipping and local pickup became the norm in the post-COVID time.
I solve problems and deliver results.
With deep experience in software development and HCI, I am able to understand systems and users, navigate through ambiguity, simplify problems, and collaborate with stakeholders to arrive at optimal solutions.
